Mars City - UAE Space Agency
In taking forward the Mission of Mars, one of the esteemed Space project of UAE Space Agency Emirati planned to elevate the Mars City. Recently Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi, director-general, announced the budget for the construction as AED500million and the pinned the area allocated for the project.
This is an attempt to explore what the Martian vernacular will look like. Designing to low gravity, low pressure, extreme cold, and high levels of radiation radically change the Architect's toolkit and resulting forms and spaces.
When you begin to inhabit a world that has no existing eco-system, environmentalism takes on a whole new meaning. The challenge is not to preserve the existing environment, but rather to design and engineer a whole new man-made ecosystem, making us take the step up from custodians to creators of our own little Martian circle of life.
The Mars City is the largest space stimulation city ever built in the world and a realistic model to simulate living on the surface of Mars. It will consist of several domes, with innovative construction techniques providing support for the structures. The project encompasses laboratories for food, energy, and water, as well as agricultural testing and studies about food security in the future.
It will also contain a Mars museum and specialized science laboratories.
